Dating back to the Victorian era, The Ironworks is a vast iron rolling mill set in the historic village of Elsecar. With a capacity of up to 900, our stunning industrial venue can be adapted to your individual requirements.

Just five minutes from the M1 and less than 20 minutes by direct train from Sheffield and Barnsley, The Ironworks, surrounded by the cobbled streets and beautiful historic buildings of Elsecar village, is one of the most characterful and unforgettable event spaces in Yorkshire.

Providing a stunning backdrop for your industrial-style wedding, our unique venue is one of the most characterful and unforgettable event spaces in Yorkshire.

Let us help you plan your perfect day. From your first enquiry through to the day of your wedding, our experienced team will be on hand to ensure your wedding perfectly matches your style and personality.

Our spacious venue is perfect for larger celebrations with family and friends. The space can be partitioned with drapes for a more intimate setting and for a ‘grand reveal’ for your evening guests to enjoy. Featuring a bar, staging and a flexible range of layouts.

Important Notice

Please note that in 2024, the Ironworks and the surrounding site will be undergoing some renovations, therefore we will keep you updated on our website. Whilst this is very exciting news for the site, it also unfortunately means we will be unable to offer the Ironworks to hire for weddings during 2024 but we are taking bookings for 2025. However, if you are interested, we can put your name and contact information on our waitlist for when we do begin taking bookings. Our other wedding venue Cannon Hall remains available to hire in 2024.
