Newcomen Engine Demonstration: 11am
Demonstrations of the Newcomen Engine at Elsecar are running on Sunday 28 June. The engine is the oldest atmospheric engine still in its original location in the world. Invented by Thomas Newcomen to pump water from the coal mines, it was the first ever practical engine. Learn more from our expert tour guides!
