Barnsley will be serving up a smashing summer of ping pong

Ping! the nation’s favourite ping pong festival will be hitting the streets of Barnsley for five fun filled weeks, beginning Saturday, 11 June. Barnsley is one of five new locations chosen to host the spectacular event, along with major cities such as Manchester and Newcastle. In total 21 towns and cities around the UK will see the ping pong extravaganza arrive.

Barnsley Museums will be unwrapping a bursting package of family fun this Christmas. During the holiday season visitors will have a great time at Cannon Hall Museum, park and gardens, Worsbrough Mill, Experience Barnsley, Cooper Gallery and Elsecar Heritage, all operated by Barnsley Council.

Spectacular Christmas lights switch on at Elsecar

For the second year running Elsecar Heritage will be hosting a spectacular night of entertainment at the annual Christmas lights switch on, which will be taking place on Friday 27 November. As well the lights switch on taking place at 6.45pm, there will also be a fireworks display which will light up the historic village.

ELSECAR BY THE SEA
