Elsecar by the sea sails into historic village

Visitors to Elsecar are in for a treat when Elsecar by the Sea, the village’s annual family event, arrives on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September. The fun filled family weekend brings with it a taste of the seaside. There will be lots to see and do including a community gala in the award winning Elsecar park, beer festival in Milton Hall, craft fair in The Ironworks and steam trains plus much more.

Barnsley Museums secure over £70,000 worth of funding

Barnsley Museums have secured funding of £79,200 from Arts Council England to help develop their charitable organisation. Barnsley Museum Heritage Trust supports the work of Barnsley Museums and has an active role in fundraising for the five sites which include; Cannon Hall, Worsbrough Mill, Elsecar Heritage, Experience Barnsley and the Cooper Gallery.

Join in the fun as the Look North fundraiser travels through Barnsley

There are lots of great things planned to take place in Barnsley on Thursday, 10 and Friday, 11 March, to celebrate the arrival of BBC Look North presenters Harry Gration and Paul "The Weatherman" Hudson. The duo will be traveling through the town in their attempt to cross Yorkshire tied together, all in aid of Sports Relief.
