Great Engine In Action
Elsecar is home to the world's oldest steam engine still in its original location in the world, a 1795 Newcomen Engine that pumped water from the New Colliery. On these special 45 minute tours, see the engine in action, tour the New Colliery and look down its Georgian mineshaft. The engine is recognised to be one of the world’s greatest monuments to the Industrial Revolution.
Tours will be running at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
